About the 6G-Valley

The Erlangen-Nuremberg metropolitan region is establishing itself as a central location for next-generation mobile communications and communication technologies. Thanks to its high-performance technological infrastructure, numerous companies in the field of communication and network technologies, highly successful innovation centers, and close networking of industry with cutting-edge research and first-class training and junior staff development institutions, the region is already one of the leading locations for mobile communications and communication technology in Germany.

Against this background, the region is an ideal industrial, research, training, and innovation location for future ICT-driven technologies and applications. With the 6G-Valley, FAU, in cooperation with Fraunhofer IIS and LZE e. V., is now founding a lighthouse innovation cluster for 6G and future communication technologies.

The goal of the 6G-Valley is to bundle the know-how and forces of regional actors from science, industry, politics, education, and society and to lead and expand the significant and deeply rooted mobile communications tradition of the Nuremberg metropolitan region into the future.
